Your Nose Is For Breathing Your Mouth Is For Eating

There are several reasons why it is obvious that your nose is designed to be breathed through. Firstly, your nose is like an air conditioner for your lungs. Air that passes through your nose on the way to your lungs is filtered by the nose. Your nose will massively reduce the amount of dust, pollens, bacteria, virus, or anything else that is floating in the air.

These things would cause major problems if there were allowed to flow straight down into the lungs. The nose is designed to handle them. It is your first line of defense. If you breathe through your mouth you do not use these defenses.

Top Tips For Living A Healthy Life

1. Give up smoking

Quit smoking. It is THE single best thing you can do for your health. Cigarettes contain around 400 toxic substances and 60 known or suspected cancer-causing agents, not forgetting the aging effects that cigarettes have on the skin. Don’t fall for the ‘my grandma smoked 40 a day and lived till she was 93 years old’ mind set – this may well be true for 1 in 100,000 cases, but the other 99,000 all died of lung related diseases.

The scientists have finally agreed on this one. There is irrefutable evidence that smoking causes serious harmful effects to human health and, since the early 60′s when the first announcements were being made, there has been a steady increase in the number of people trying to give up smoking. There are still many teenagers who continue to smoke because of peer pressure and the need to portray a more adult image, hopefully this number will reduce over time.

The Gift of ADD: Gremlin Or Ipod

Through out the online ADD Community there is some what of an on going debate about whether ADD is a gift. ADD expert Edward Hallowell describes ADD as a gift that needs to be unwrapped. I like to think of ADD more like one of those gifts that I have unwrapped but just have no idea what to do with. It’s also like one of those gifts that I did not ask for but somebody just felt the need to give to me.

ADD reminds me of the movie Gremlins. If I remember correctly Gizmo was a cute fun little guy but had to be cared for by following very specific directions. If those directions were not followed to the “T” all hell broke loose. I supposed the same could be said about a person with ADD. With proper care and feeding people with ADD can thrive. With out proper care and feeding the life of those with ADD can resemble the movie Gremlins.
